Expression of Interest - Civil Construction Roles

We’re building our Christchurch team for a major programme of civil infrastructure work, and we’re looking for experienced people who want to be part of it.

With the Brougham Street project getting underway in early 2027, Downer has opportunities coming up across civil construction, utilities, drainage, water, earthworks and pavement works. We’re inviting expressions of interest from people with a range of skills and experience who are interested in joining the team.

We’re interested in hearing from:

• Civil Labourers, skilled and general
• Excavator Operators, including 5T to 14T experience
• Class 2 and 4 Truck Drivers
• Drainlayers (CCC Authorised)
• Water Supply Installers (CCC Authorised)
• Leading Hands and Foremen
• Skilled Operators
• Multi-skilled civil workers
• People interested in developing their skills within drainage and water installation

What we are looking for

We’re looking for people who have experience working in civil construction and enjoy being part of a crew where the work can vary day to day.

Depending on the role, we’ll be looking for relevant licences, tickets, qualifications and practical experience, particularly across utilities, drainage, water, earthworks, pavement and general civil construction.

Most importantly, we want to hear from people who are keen to be part of a major programme of work in Christchurch and bring their skills and experience to the team.
