About The Role:
This is a hands-on role where your organisation, problem-solving skills and attention to detail will make a real difference. You’ll work closely with our Operations teams to make sure the right materials are available, stock is accurate, and our warehouse operates safely and efficiently.
Role Responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day warehouse operation, including receiving, storing and issuing goods, while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring stock is available when it’s needed. You’ll be responsible for picking and preparing orders accurately and on time for our Operations teams, monitoring stock accuracy, obsolete and slow-moving inventory, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency. You’ll coordinate annual stocktakes and monthly cycle counts, plan and manage warehouse logistics, deliveries and order fulfilment, and proactively manage inventory levels to minimise the risk of stockouts. You’ll also play an important role in maintaining a clean, organised and efficient warehouse environment, while overseeing depot requirements such as waste management, recycling and security. Building strong relationships with Operations, suppliers and other key stakeholders will be an important part of the role, along with providing proactive communication and responsive customer service to our internal teams. We’ll also look to you to identify and contribute to improvements in processes, safety, efficiency and ways of working. You’ll take pride in looking after company equipment, PPE and other Northpower property, ensuring everything is maintained, fit for purpose and in good working order.
Experience:
We’re looking for someone who is practical, organised and confident taking ownership of warehouse and inventory operations. You’ll ideally have: -A relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics or a related field. -3+ years’ experience in warehouse, inventory or logistics management within an operational environment. -Experience in the electrical industry would be an advantage. -Experience leading people, managing performance and coaching others. -A good understanding of continuous improvement practices. -Strong written and verbal communication skills. -The ability to communicate effectively with field staff, managers, senior leaders and suppliers. -Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. -Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office. -Experience using JDE and Coupa would be highly desirable.
