About the job

About this role

Mō te tūranga | About the role

Are you someone who sees the bigger picture but also knows how to turn it into something practical?

We are looking for a Senior Adviser to help embed Integrated Business Planning across the Commerce Commission. This is a permanent position, based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.

The indicative salary range for this role is $117,629 - $138,387 plus 3.5% KiwiSaver employer contribution. The successful candidate will be appointed at a starting salary which reflects their individual skills, experience, and internal relativities across the organisation.

He kōrero mōu | About you

You will connect strategy, priorities, resources and delivery, helping leaders see what is planned, where the pressure points are and what choices may need to be made. You will work across the organisation, bring different perspectives together and turn complex information into clear, useful advice.

We are not looking for someone to build a perfect planning framework in isolation. We want someone who:

  • asks great questions and makes useful connections
  • brings structure without unnecessary bureaucracy
  • can challenge constructively and bring people with them
  • thinks strategically and gets stuck into delivery
  • takes ownership and follows things through
  • values collaboration, shared success and a bit of fun along the way.

Direct Integrated Business Planning experience would be valuable, but it is not the only route into this role. You may come from strategy, enterprise or portfolio planning, finance, workforce planning, organisational performance or change.

You will join a small, hands-on team that works across strategy, planning, performance and accountability. We work hard, help each other out and enjoy working together. The Commission is a great place to work, and this role offers a real opportunity to shape how we plan, prioritise and make decisions.
