About The Team

The opportunity – based in Wellington or Christchurch

As a specialist Senior Portfolio Performance Advisor, you'll turn complex data into clear advice that helps leaders make confident decisions about New Zealand's electricity grid. You'll provide visibility of delivery, risk, value and outcomes across Transpower's asset, maintenance, resilience and sustainability portfolios, supporting better investment decisions and long-term grid performance.

You'll identify emerging risks, opportunities and trends, track delivery against regulatory period objectives, and provide evidenced early warning where plans or priorities may need to change.

Drawing on your asset management expertise and commercial judgement, you'll help shape maintenance priorities, regulatory submissions, budgets and improvement initiatives. You’ll also improve reporting frameworks, data quality, measures and governance so leaders have reliable information for decision-making.

It’s stimulating work for an asset management professional with a direct impact on the National Grid.

What will you bring?

Asset management expertise, sound commercial judgement and the ability to turn complex portfolio information into clear, useful insights. You’ll also bring the confidence to collaborate across technical, delivery and corporate teams, building alignment without relying on positional authority.

Your CV and cover letter will clearly demonstrate:

  • depth of asset management experience, ideally in infrastructure, utilities, energy, telco or another asset-intensive environment, supported by a relevant technical and/or asset management qualification
  • sound knowledge of asset management principles and techniques, including risk-based decision making, whole-of-life asset management, asset health analysis, criticality assessment and investment prioritisation
  • demonstrated ability to translate cost, risk, service, delivery and asset performance information into actionable insights, ideally using tools such as Power BI, Python, Maximo or similar platforms
  • analytical and reporting capability, including experience developing frameworks, measures and data sets that provide meaningful portfolio insights
  • strong commercial acuity, risk-based decision-making capability, and excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
