This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of MPI's South Island sites. As the Property and Facilities presence for the South Island, you'll enjoy autonomy while contributing to decisions that support our people, workplaces, and wider organisational goals.
You'll thrive in a role that balances day-to-day operational demands with longer-term planning and improvement initiatives. Working closely with stakeholders, contractors, and site users, you'll use sound judgement, practical problem-solving, and strong relationship skills to deliver solutions, influence outcomes, and help establish new ways of working.
You'll be successful in this role if you can:
- Deliver practical property and facilities solutions
- Balance immediate needs with future priorities
- Support site improvements and workplace change
- Identify risks and implement workable solutions
- Help shape future facilities delivery at MPI
About You - Mōu
You'll likely be working in facilities management, property maintenance, technical servicing, or a similar role where you've been responsible for multiple sites and service delivery. This role offers an opportunity to broaden your experience across a diverse property portfolio both leased and owned, while supporting operational continuity, emergency response, and asset stewardship within a large organisation.
We're looking for someone with practical facilities knowledge, sound judgement, and resilience who enjoys balancing competing priorities. You'll be comfortable working independently, building strong relationships with stakeholders and service providers, and making decisions that support safe, efficient, and well-maintained workplaces.
Ideally, you will be able to:
- Manage facilities across multiple sites
- Lead regional facilities and asset activities
- Manage contractor and service provider delivery across sites
- Support emergency and after-hours response (on an as needed occasional basis)
- Apply hands-on facilities expertise
- Work independently and make sound decisions
- Build strong stakeholder relationships
- Balance competing priorities effectively
- Bring resilience and a practical mindset
- Facilities qualification advantageous, not essential
You must have a current full New Zealand driver licence (not temporary, learner, or provisional) or equivalent full foreign drivers licence.
You do not need to meet all of the role requirements to apply. We offer a breadth of development and learning opportunities and will welcome an application if you think you could make a great fit.
