About the Role

We’re on the hunt for a Duty Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and leads from the front.

As Duty Manager, you’ll oversee daily hotel operations in the absence of the Front Office Manager, ensuring seamless coordination across departments, exceptional guest experiences, and strong operational performance.

You’ll be the face of the hotel during your shift, embodying QT’s personality and EVT’s Daymaker spirit.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee hotel operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth coordination across departments
• Lead and support the Front Office team to deliver exceptional service
• Act as the primary point of contact for guest concerns, resolving issues professionally and efficiently
• Monitor staffing levels, presentation, and punctuality across departments
• Maintain accurate shift records, including incidents and operational updates
• Maximise occupancy and revenue through effective yield and rate strategies
• Drive upselling opportunities across hotel services and facilities
• Ensure compliance with WH&S, security, and crisis management procedures
• Support team development, training, and performance conversations
• Maintain brand standards and protect hotel assets

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in hotel operations, ideally within Front Office leadership
• Strong leadership and confident decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• A passion for guest experience, with the ability to resolve issues with professionalism
• Commercial awareness with an understanding of revenue and yield strategies
• Knowledge of hotel systems, WH&S requirements, and emergency protocols
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a drive to continually improve
