Good with people? Confident making decisions? We’d like to meet you.
Invercargill | Full-time | Salary range $60-$70k, depending on experience
A customer needs a hand. A department needs support. Something unexpected needs sorting. You’re the person who stays calm, brings people together and gets things moving. We’re adding two Duty Managers to our existing supermarket team, and we’re looking for approachable, capable leaders who enjoy the pace of retail.
Where you’ll make a difference Working alongside department managers, you’ll help keep the store looking great, stock available on the shelves and customer service on track. You’ll support the team through a busy shift, handle customer complaints and incidents, oversee store security, and make sure Health & Safety and Food Safety procedures are followed. It’s a role for someone who can build rapport naturally, use sound judgement and step in wherever help is needed.
Here’s the offer
- Two newly created, full-time positions.
- Salary range of $60-$70k per year, depending on experience.
- One Sunday–Wednesday roster and one Wednesday–Saturday roster.
- Hours agreed at interview, including late nights until closing, weekends and public holidays.
Our store is open to customers from 8am to 9pm every day.
You’ll bring the experience and the attitude You’ll have retail management or supervisory experience, ideally two years or more, along with clear communication, strong time management and practical leadership and problem-solving skills. You’ll approach busy days with enthusiasm and professionalism and take your responsibility for Health & Safety seriously. A forklift licence and First Aid certificate would be useful but aren’t essential. No manager’s liquor certificate is needed—we’re within the Invercargill Licensing Trust area and don’t sell liquor. Sound like your kind of role? Apply with your CV. We’d like to hear how you lead a team.
