Join the IRIS Next Gen project and help our people prepare for a major digital transformation. As a Change Analyst, you will translate new processes into clear impacts, practical actions and effective support for teams across council.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

  • Fixed term role for 18 months.
  • Support the IRIS Next Gen project, a major digital transformation replacing systems that support core council services.
  • Work across the project and business to understand new future processes and how they will affect people, roles, hand-offs, controls and ways of working.
  • Document gaps and change impacts, assess readiness and adoption risks, and help develop and deliver practical change, engagement, training and adoption activities.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex change clear and relevant for different audiences.
  • Practical experience completing change impact, gap, readiness or training-needs analysis on large or complex projects.
  • Confidence facilitating workshops and interviews that surface insights, resolve ambiguity and build agreement.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with close attention to detail and traceable documentation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, collaboration, influencing and consensus-building skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, prioritising competing demands in a fast-moving project environment.
  • A practical, people-focused approach to identifying barriers to adoption and recommending workable responses.

Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience

  • A relevant bachelor qualification in business or a similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Change analyst or change management experience on a large-scale IT project in a complex organisation.
  • Change management certification, such as Prosci or ADKAR, is desirable but not essential.
  • Five or more years’ experience using complex business, systems or process analysis techniques, methods and standards.
  • Experience in local government or developing training material for adult learners would be an advantage.

  • You will work within the IRIS Next Gen project team, predominantly alongside the change management workstream.
  • You will collaborate with the Change Manager, Process Lead, Business Analysts, project leaders, subject matter experts and business teams across council.
  • You will join a collaborative team focused on helping staff understand, prepare for and adopt new processes and systems.
