Job Description

Team Manager, Resource Development

Permanent position | National Office, Wellington

Te Haeata | The Opportunity

Lead the specialist team that develops and manages the legal information resources and systems supporting judges across Aotearoa New Zealand. You will shape reliable national services, improve how we use data and technology, and help guide the future delivery of legal information to the judiciary.

Reporting to the Manager Judicial Libraries, you will combine people leadership with oversight of resources, suppliers, budgets, systems and service improvement. You will work closely with court librarians, judicial staff, Digital, Finance and major legal information providers.

You will:

  • Lead, coach and develop a specialist team
  • Oversee print and online legal resources and the library catalogue
  • Use data and insights to improve services and show their value
  • Manage budgets, expenditure, invoicing and accruals
  • Lead supplier relationships and national service improvements
  • Advise on emerging technology and future information services

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Bring experience leading, coaching and developing people
  • Hold a postgraduate library or other relevant qualification
  • Know information resources, systems and supplier management
  • Manage budgets and turn data into practical decisions
  • Have an understanding of te ao Māori and tikanga Māori and how they are applicable in a legal information environment

Experience in a legal, judicial, government or other complex service environment would be an advantage.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $112,766 and $145,388, based on skills and experience.
