Site Foreman / Leading Hand

The Role As Site Foreman, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of projects on site, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

You will lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors, manage programme delivery, and act as the key link between the site, project stakeholders, and management team.

This role suits a trade-qualified construction professional who enjoys leading people, solving problems, and taking ownership. This may include being on the tools from time to time.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Managing daily site operations across construction projects
• Supervising site personnel, tradespeople, and subcontractors
• Coordinating work programmes and project sequencing
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
• Carrying out and managing defect inspections
• Monitoring quality assurance and compliance requirements
• Conducting toolbox talks and promoting a strong health and safety culture
• Managing materials, equipment, and labour resources
• Identifying and resolving site issues proactively
• Maintaining site records, reporting, and project documentation
• Building positive relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers

Role Requirements To be successful in this role you will bring:

• Trade qualification in carpentry or a related building trade
• Proven experience as a Site Foreman, Leading Hand, Senior Carpenter, or similar supervisory role
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and site management
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors
• Sound knowledge of New Zealand building regulations and health and safety requirements
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong organisational and planning capability
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
• Full New Zealand driver's licence
