The Centre for International Health is a vibrant hub for global health research, education, and collaboration within the University of Otago's Division of Health Sciences. The role | Te mahi

We are seeking a highly organised and collaborative Project Manager to oversee the administration and delivery of a major international, multi-centre observational study within the Centre for International Health. The study is generating critical evidence to inform future Phase III vaccine trials for invasive nontyphoidal Salmonella disease, a major cause of severe illness and mortality among children in Africa.

Working closely with researchers, funders, and international collaborators, you will lead all aspects of project management, including communications, stakeholder engagement, reporting and regulatory compliance, financial oversight, and the coordination of study activities.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and adaptable individual who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively with global research partners. You will have strong project management capability, and a meticulous approach to organising information and maintaining accurate records. You will be comfortable working with complex research data, managing competing priorities, and building effective relationships across diverse international teams.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications in project management or a related field.
  • Experience managing large research projects or studies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • The ability to quickly learn new skills and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

This is a part-time (0.5 FTE), fixed term position for 30 months, located in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.
