We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as either a Planner or Graduate Planner, depending on experience. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of planning matters, engage with stakeholders, and contribute to the development of policies and projects that support sustainable growth and development across the district. With significant changes to planning legislation on the horizon, there has never been a better time to join our team and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and evolving profession.
Job requirements
- A degree in Planning, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within a team.
- A genuine interest in community planning and sustainable development.
- Applicants must have the right to live and work in New Zealand.
Job responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and assessment of resource consent applications.
- Contribute to the development and review of planning policies and documents.
- Provide planning advice and support to the community and stakeholders.
- Conduct research and analysis to support planning outcomes.
- Participate in public consultation and community engagement activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies.
- Support projects that contribute to the sustainable development of the district.
