Make a Difference in Your Community
MidCentral is seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals who would like to volunteer and help support patients, whānau, visitors, and staff across our services.
We have a range of rewarding volunteer opportunities available, including:
Friends of the Emergency Department (FEDS)
Support patients and whānau in the Emergency Department alongside another volunteer.
- 4-hour shifts
- Morning, afternoon, or evening shifts
- Available Monday to Sunday
Hospital Friend STAR 4 Ward in Horowhenua
Provide companionship and support to patients on the STAR 4 Ward at Horowhenua Health Centre.
Hospital Host at Palmerston North Hospital
MidCentral, in partnership with Canine Friends, is looking to restart our Hospital Host service at the main entrance of Palmerston North Hospital.
- 2.5-hour volunteer sessions
- Morning or afternoon options available
- Help create a welcoming hospital environment for patients and visitors
- Assist patients, whānau, and visitors to find their way to appointments, clinics, and hospital services
