About the Role

As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will assist in the receipt, documentation, registration, processing of all specimens, including those referred to other laboratories, as required by authorized policies and protocols. You will also be required to perform other technical and operational duties normally expected of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), such as those related to efficient and effective operations of the Pathology service.

As a Medical Laboratory Technician in Microbiology, you become part of the team that uncovers what the naked eye can’t see. Every specimen tells a story, and your skill helps transform that story into safe, effective patient care.

About you

  • Medical Laboratory Technician with registration with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Proven ability to rapidly learn new knowledge and skills
  • A basic understanding of health/illness and prevention of infection
  • Previous experience within a Healthcare setting
  • Ability to work as a team member

Recent experience working within a Medical Laboratory within Microbiology is desired.
