About the job:
We’re looking for a qualified Industrial Electrician to join our supportive team in Christchurch!
The role involves:
- Completing scheduled and reactive electrical maintenance across pump stations, reservoirs and associated plant.
- Inspecting, testing, fault-finding and repairing industrial electrical and control equipment, including motors, switchboards, motor control centres, variable speed drives, soft starters, control systems and instrumentation.
- Carrying out, testing and certifying electrical work in line with New Zealand electrical regulations, standards and contract requirements.
- Working independently while coordinating with the Supervisor and Pumps & Storage team to complete work and identify any follow-up requirements.
- Maintaining accurate job records, test results and certification, while contributing ideas that improve the service we deliver.
What you’ll need:
- A Level 4 National Certificate in Electrical Engineering, current New Zealand electrical registration and a practising licence.
- At least two years’ experience in a similar role.
- A full Class 1 driver licence and current Comprehensive First Aid certificate.
- A strong commitment to safety, teamwork and clear communication.
- Industrial electrical, water or wastewater, PLC, telemetry or confined-space experience is welcome but not essential.
All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, Ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
