Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity Join Downer’s Energy & Utilities, Hornby team as an Electrician, putting your skills to work on electrical networks that keep communities connected.
Deliver electrical fitting services across network equipment and installations. Your work will include construction, planned maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs, with a strong focus on completing every job safely, accurately and to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing and maintaining substations, transformers, switchgear, regulators and other network equipment
- Diagnosing, analysing and repairing faults across the network distribution system
- Completing accurate job documentation and providing timely information to stakeholders
- Following quality systems, technical procedures and safe work practices
- Actively contributing to a Zero Harm workplace
- Participation in our faults roster
- Completing relevant training and competency development
Ngā pūkenga matua | What We’re Looking For You’re a qualified Electrician who takes pride in delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality work that helps keep communities connected. You'll bring a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn.
You'll bring:
- A recognised electrical trade qualification, current New Zealand electrical registration, and a practising licence.
- A current driver licence and the ability to work safely across a variety of environments and conditions.
- Strong electrical fault-finding, testing, and maintenance skills, with a focus on quality workmanship.
- Sound communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A practical, hands-on approach with a strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and Zero Harm.
- Experience with substation equipment, network assets, or overhead and underground construction is advantageous but not essential.
