Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is seeking a BCom Development Coordinator to join Ōrauariki - Wellington School of Business and Government on a fixed-term, full-time basis until 30 November 2027.

Working at the heart of the BCom Refresh, you will help shape how BCom students learn and turn ideas for better learning and teaching into practical improvements across our core courses. If you’re interested in how students learn, enjoy bringing people and projects together, and like seeing ideas through into delivery, this is a role where you can make a tangible contribution.

While there may be limited flexibility to work remotely, on-campus presence is expected to be the norm.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive improvements to BCom core courses undergoing review or refresh, working with teaching teams to establish practices that sustain teaching quality beyond the term of the role.
  • Establish and sustain external stakeholder involvement in course development and delivery, ensuring contributions align with programme and learning outcomes.
  • Set and manage course development and teaching preparation timelines, ensuring agreed deliverables are completed and addressing dependencies and delays.
  • Oversee recruitment, employment administration, induction, training and development, ensuring staff are appointed and prepared on time.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You don’t need to be a learning and teaching specialist to be excited by this role. You might come from project coordination, tertiary education or another role where you’ve brought people together and turned good ideas into practical outcomes. What matters is that you’re organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership, working through problems and keeping complex pieces of work moving. An interest in learning and teaching will make this an especially rewarding role, as you’ll work closely with teaching teams to help shape and strengthen the BCom student experience.

Key requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification, or professional experience in a tertiary institution.
  • Proven experience driving projects through to completion, managing timelines and dependencies, and resolving barriers to delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience of developing and maintaining effective relationships, both internally and externally, and building strong networks with communities and organisations.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
