About The Role

We are looking for a skilled AME (Avionics) to join our elite Base Maintenance team in Ohakea. If you thrive on hands-on technical challenges, love cracking complex system quirks, and take pride in keeping cutting-edge avionics operating at peak performance, you will fit right in.

Working within a supportive, tight-knit team, you will directly support Royal New Zealand Airforce (RNZAF). Your day-to-day will involve a dynamic mix of on-aircraft and off-aircraft maintenance, advanced systems troubleshooting, rapid rectification tasks, and complex modifications, directly ensuring the operational readiness of a high-profile fleet.

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • NZ recognised Aeronautical Engineering (Avionics) certificate - minimum Level 4; or, for ex-military personnel, completion of technical training; or a CAANZ AME Licence.
  • Strong aviation airworthiness knowledge with proven experience applying it in a strictly regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with aircraft maintenance documentation, IETPs, and contemporary maintenance practices.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills alongside solid computer literacy (including MS Office).

Important Eligibility Requirements

Due to the critical nature of this defence project, you must be able to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Defence Force security clearance. Because of this requirement, only New Zealand Citizens (including dual citizens holding New Zealand citizenship) are eligible to apply.

What You'll Bring

You are a meticulous professional who takes pride in precision, maintains flawless standards, and always puts aircraft safety first. You thrive in a fast-paced, highly technical environment where details matter, and you enjoy being part of a team that always has each other's backs.

Why us

We seek to inspire our people to grow, so you have the right mindset, behaviours and skills to thrive and achieve the organisation goals whilst being focussed on your personal development through classroom and online learning.

We value the health and wellbeing of our employees and offer true flexibility that allows you to balance your career with what is important to you outside of work. We will celebrate your successes and achievements with a formal reward and recognition program.
