Yardperson / Truck Driver - Wanaka

Due to growing demand, AllWaste is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Yardperson / Truck Driver to join our Wanaka operation. This is a hands-on role that combines yard duties, recycling and waste management activities, and truck driving responsibilities across the Wanaka region. Working as part of our wider operations team, you will play a key role in the aggregation and management of recyclable and waste materials for transfer to our recycling facility in Cromwell. You will also operate skip bin trucks and support customers throughout the Wanaka area. About the Role This is a varied position where no two days are the same. Your responsibilities will include:

• Receiving, sorting, aggregating and managing recyclable and waste materials within the yard

• Loading and preparing materials for transport to our recycling facility in Cromwell

• Operating the loader and other yard equipment (training provided where required)

• Delivering and collecting skip bins safely and efficiently

• Completing vehicle and equipment inspections

• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe yard environment

• Working collaboratively with the wider operations team to meet customer and operational requirements

• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards at all times

What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• A full New Zealand Class 4 licence or a Class 2 licence with a willingness to progress

• Experience operating trucks, heavy vehicles or similar equipment

• A strong commitment to health and safety

• Good physical fitness and willingness to undertake manual work

• A positive attitude and strong work ethic

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good communication and customer service skills

• Loader endorsement and experience (advantageous but not essential)

• Experience in the waste, recycling, construction, transport or related industries (preferred but not essential)

What We Offer

• Stable, full-time employment with a minimum of 40 hours per week

• Pay rate in the range of $30 to $34 per hour depending on skills and experience.
