SYSTEMS & COMMUNICATIONS ENGINEER Own the Future of Operational Technology at Northpower

Why Join Us? This is a rare opportunity to play a leading role in Northpower's Operational Technology (OT) communications environment. You will be responsible for the design, architecture, implementation, commissioning, optimisation, and lifecycle management of critical communications systems that support electricity network operations, renewable energy assets, and control systems. Working alongside OT and control systems leaders, you will provide specialist communications expertise and drive the continuous improvement of business-critical operational networks.

The Opportunity More than a traditional engineering role, you will serve as a crucial communications engineering specialist and subject matter expert for the OT communications environment. You will drive strategic improvements, deliver capital projects, develop technical standards, and ensure the reliability, resilience, security, and performance of business-critical operational networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownengineering responsibility for the OT

communications network across design, implementation, commissioning, support, and continuous improvement.

  • Design, implement, commission, and support communications and networking

infrastructure.

  • Develop network architecture, technical standards, and strategic roadmaps.
  • Execute communications projects supporting operational technology and

renewable energy initiatives.

  • Configure and maintain industrial networking, telecommunications, and field

communications equipment.

  • Identify and implement improvements to resilience, cybersecurity, and

operational performance.

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical leadership across the

organisation.

About You

  • Engineering degree in Electrical

Engineering or related discipline.

  • Experience in Operational Technology, Telecommunications, Industrial

Networking, or Communications Engineering.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing critical communications

networks.

  • Cisco networking knowledge and strong technical troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience within utilities, industrial automation, telecommunications, or

critical infrastructure environments highly regarded.
