This is more than a Service Manager role. It is an opportunity to lead one of the most significant automotive service operations in New Zealand.
Auckland City BMW is New Zealand’s largest BMW dealer, representing the iconic BMW and MINI brands. With a multi-million-dollar transformation of our Auckland City site underway and completion scheduled for 2027, we are entering an exciting new chapter.
We are looking for an ambitious, commercially focused and passionate Service Manager to lead our Service Department through this transformation and into the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the Service Departments to achieve and exceed financial, productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction targets.
- Driving service bookings, revenue and profitability in line with business objectives.
- Building, coaching and developing a high-performing Service team.
- Creating a culture of accountability, professionalism and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring every customer receives a premium service experience worthy of the brands we represent.
- Ensuring high standards of workmanship across service, pre-delivery and used vehicle preparation.
- Analysing performance and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and profitability.
- Working closely with the Dealer Principal and senior leadership team to shape strategy and deliver business objectives.
- Managing customer concerns with professionalism, integrity and a solutions-focused approach.
- Maintaining exceptional standards across workshop presentation, health and safety, compliance and operational controls.
- Providing clear feedback to senior management on opportunities, challenges and areas for improvement.
- Ensuring BMW and MINI manufacturer standards, training, warranty and goodwill processes are consistently achieved.
- Leading the Service operation through an exciting period of significant growth and site transformation.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading a busy automotive Service or Workshop operation.
- Appropriate technical qualifications and a current driver’s licence.
- Excellent organisational and time-management capabilities.
- Proven experience managing budgets and delivering commercial results.
- The ability to motivate and lead a high-performance team.
- Strong customer service credentials and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- A proven ability to develop, implement and continuously improve department processes.
- The confidence to manage complex customer issues and deliver solutions without compromising service standards.
- The ability to inspire, develop and hold people accountable.
