About the role: Stantec’s Power team in New Zealand is currently undergoing significant growth on the back of new clients and projects offering exciting opportunities for Electrical Engineers to work on a variety of MV/HV/EHV AC and DC substation projects locally and globally. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to develop efficient and reliable substations for our clients. You will coordinate the planning and design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completion. We provide career opportunities that are as unique as you. Key responsibilities include + Develop protection and control engineering drawings for substation and power system applications + Design protection schemes, including relay settings, control logic, control room layouts, and panel layouts + Prepare complete P&C engineering design packages, including drawings, specifications, and construction work packages + Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of P&C designs and deliverables + Prepare technical reports that clearly communicate engineering concepts and meet client requirements + Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., civil, structural, telecom, SCADA) to deliver integrated designs + Lead and mentor Junior and Intermediate engineers + Interface directly with clients and provide support in coordinating project execution + Support drafting activities, as required, to complete deliverables What you’ll bring to the role + Experience developing P&C drawing packages, specifications, and construction documentation for substation projects + Understanding of client standards, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations + Ability to support site visits, gather field data, and assist with substation upgrade and expansion projects + Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders + Valid NZ driver’s license with ability to travel to project sites + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering + 10 years of relevant P&C experience; experience working with utilities is advantageous + Chartership (CPEng) or intention to attain chartership.
