Based on-site at our National Office in Wellington's CBD.  Mō te tūnga | About the roleWe are seeking two fixed term Senior Advisers to join our Official Correspondence team for the next five to six months.The Official Correspondence team plays a critical role in managing Corrections' official correspondence and acts as an important link between the Department and the people we serve. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality, well-reasoned responses to a range of official correspondence, ensuring statutory requirements and organisational standards are met within established timeframes and to a high-quality standard.Some of your day-today activities will include:Preparing responses to official correspondence on behalf of the Department: responses to Official Information Act (OIA) and Privacy Act requests, some Ministerial correspondence and queries from family and whānau members.Undertaking research and analysis to ensure enquiries are fully addressed and responses are robust.Peer reviewing work for each other ensuring consistency and quality of the responses across the team.Providing expert advice to Departmental employees, including building relationships, regarding OIA and Privacy Act legislation requirements. Mōu | About you To be successful in your application, you will demonstrate superior written and oral communication skills, good analytical skills, and the resilience to manage multiple priorities at the same time. As it is a key element of the role, you will have an understanding of the Official Information Act and the Privacy Act.
