THE ROLE
We’re seeking an experienced SAP Procurement Lead to join DXC in a permanent, Auckland-based role, leading the procurement functional workstream for a New Zealand customer transitioning from SAP SRM to SAP S/4HANA.
Operating at Principal Consultant level, you’ll own end-to-end procurement solution design, combining hands-on functional expertise with the ability to guide senior stakeholders and resolve complex design challenges. You’ll ensure the solution aligns with procurement policies, financial controls, asset management processes and SAP best practices.
Working closely with programme leadership, finance, integration and data migration teams, you’ll provide functional direction from discovery and design through to implementation and hypercare.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead discovery and fit-to-standard workshops, requirements analysis and solution design across requisitioning, purchasing, contracts and service procurement.
- Assess existing SAP SRM functionality, customisations, workflows and integrations to define the transition approach to S/4HANA.
- Design and validate S/4HANA procurement processes, including Lean Services, service entry sheets, service master data, enhanced limits and item hierarchies.
- Lead workflow design across work order routing, approval thresholds, missing goods receipt scenarios, Flexible Workflow and Fiori My Inbox.
- Define procurement integration requirements and work with FI/CO specialists on vendor retentions, down payments, milestone billing and G/L account determination.
- Define data migration and reconciliation requirements for supplier and service master data, open purchase orders and service entry sheets.
- Support PR-to-PO automation, BRF+ rules, Adobe purchase order outputs, reporting transition and legacy SRM decommissioning.
- Coordinate functional configuration, technical development, testing, cutover, training and hypercare.
- Act as the senior procurement design authority, managing dependencies, risks, decisions and stakeholder expectations.
ABOUT YOU
You’re an experienced SAP procurement consultant who brings strong functional knowledge, confident stakeholder engagement and a practical approach to delivering complex transformation programmes.
You’ll Bring
- Extensive SAP procurement consulting experience across SAP SRM and SAP S/4HANA Procurement / Materials Management (MM).
- Demonstrated experience leading procurement transformation or migration programmes, ideally involving a transition from SRM to S/4HANA.
- Strong knowledge of requisition-to-order processes, purchase orders, contracts, service procurement, service entry sheets and approval workflows.
- An understanding of SAP financial integration, vendor retentions, goods receipts, invoice matching and account determination.
- Proven ability to lead workshops, influence senior stakeholders, resolve complex design issues and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- The ability to take ownership of end-to-end functional outcomes while remaining hands-on in solution design and delivery.
Experience with SAP Flexible Workflow, Fiori procurement applications, OData integrations and procurement data migration would be beneficial. Exposure to Lean Services, EAM/Asset Accounting integration, MuleSoft, BRF+ and Adobe Forms would also be advantageous.
Experience delivering New Zealand public sector SAP programmes, including procurement governance, auditability, delegated financial authority and compliance requirements, will be highly regarded.
