About EVT

At EVT we believe in changing the game. Why? Because no one wants ordinary. If you're seeking to be part of the kind of wow-factor moments you can help shape, then you've come to the right place.

As market-leading experience creators, we bring to life some of the best-known brands and properties in entertainment, ventures, and travel. Our portfolio includes over 140 entertainment experiences like Event Cinemas and Moonlight Cinemas, 150 award-winning restaurants and bars, and 80+ hotels, including QT, Rydges, Atura, LyLo, Independent Collection by EVT and Thredbo. Our ventures include a ~$2.3B property portfolio and hotel management, just to name a few.

The role

The National Account Director is primarily focused on securing future business opportunities within your assigned markets, cultivating the current base of major accounts, increasing projected revenues, and promoting EVT Group business. You'll lead the NZ National Account portfolio, looking after our Corporate, Government, and TMC (Travel Management Company) accounts across New Zealand, identifying potential in market and driving the profile of the EVT hotel network through all facets of sales.

You'll work closely with hotel General Managers and the wider EVT sales team to drive sales initiatives and increase sales aptitude across the network.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct management and goal setting for identified group accounts, leading joint strategic account planning with mutual objectives, targets, and milestones.
  • Capture and shift business from competitor hotels through targeted research, networking, and proactive solicitation of new accounts, delivering above-market performance.
  • Support the strategic direction of nominated hotels' sales strategies and identify new revenue opportunities, including outlet activations, packages, and joint venture opportunities, in collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Loyalty, and Digital teams.
  • Track key drivers of change across your markets, along with technology and distribution trends, sharing intelligence with General Managers and hotel sales teams.
  • Represent EVT within industry organisations, building relationships and gathering market intelligence as a credible subject matter expert.
  • Ensure sales activity is accurately recorded in the CRM, and provide leadership, advice, and oversight to support hotels in making sound commercial decisions.

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior hotel or national sales role, with a strong track record of managing major accounts, delivering new customers to the portfolio, and driving above-market revenue performance and ROI.
  • Strategic thinking, with the ability to translate strategy into action across multiple market segments, with a clear focus on revenue growth and share capture.
  • An outstanding relationship builder across the business, able to partner with key corporate, government, and industry clients, and negotiate and influence at a senior level.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and communication skills, with a deep understanding of the hospitality industry, market dynamics, and customer segmentation.
  • Creative thinking, a high level of attention to detail, and exceptional project management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CRM platforms, excellent verbal and written communication skills across a wide variety of stakeholders, and a relevant tertiary qualification in business, hospitality, sales, or marketing (desirable).

How you work

  • Owner's mindset: acts on data and feedback, ships improvements.
  • Inclusive leader: values diverse perspectives, builds belonging.
  • Resilient and solutions-focused: stays calm, moves fast.
  • Growth mindset: learns, shares, and levels up others.

Perks from day one

  • 50% off dining and stays across EVT hotels: QT, Rydges, Atura, LyLo and more.
  • $2 movie tickets, plus discounts on Gold Class, Moonlight Cinema and Candy Bar.
  • Seasonal perks at Thredbo.
  • Rapid career growth across our hotel and entertainment network.
