Kitchen Hand - Waitomo Homestead

We’re looking for a reliable, energetic, part-time permanent Kitchen Hand to join the Food and Beverage team at Waitomo Homestead. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys working with others, takes pride in keeping things clean and organised, and is keen to build experience in a busy hospitality environment.

What you’ll do

• Keep food preparation areas, equipment, utensils and café spaces clean, safe and ready for service

• Support the team with simple food preparation, plating and short-order cooking when required

• Restock supplies, rotate stock and help receive and store deliveries

• Clear tables and maintain a welcoming, tidy environment for our guests

• Follow food safety, health and safety, and café procedures

• Pitch in wherever needed to help the team deliver a great customer experience

What you’ll bring

• Numerate and literate (either NCEA Level 1&2 or proven work experience)

• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn

• Reliability, honesty and a strong work ethic

• Good time management and attention to detail

• The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team

• A genuine interest in food preparation, hygiene and customer service

• Availability to work across a seven-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays

Previous hospitality experience is welcome, but it is not essential. If you’re dependable, ready to learn and enjoy being part of a supportive team, we’d like to hear from you.
