Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) · 1001-5000 employees

Hamilton, Waikato

About the job

LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative that’s been supporting herd improvement in New Zealand’s dairy sector for more than 115 years. We’re focused on providing superior genetics, reliable testing and diagnostics, integrated on-farm software, and great customer service, all designed to help farmers make smarter decisions every day.

As a proud generational co-operative, we’re here for farmers, their families, and rural communities, not just for today, but for the future. And none of it happens without our people. Whether on farm, in the lab, or behind the scenes, every one of us plays a part in helping New Zealand farmers succeed.

Your Role:

As a Field Support Officer, you'll help keep LIC's Herd Testing operation running smoothly by supporting the people, systems, and processes that deliver accurate results to dairy farmers across New Zealand.

This is a varied role where you'll rotate across technical support, operational problem-solving, customer service, and business administration. Working closely with field teams, laboratories, customers, and internal stakeholders, you'll help resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure exceptional service delivery.

Your Key Focus:

Herd Testing Support - Keeping our people and technology connected and operating efficiently.

Problem Herd Resolution - Solving complex operational challenges to ensure farmers receive accurate results on time.

Credits, Charges & Inventory Management - Supporting the financial and inventory processes that keep Herd Testing running smoothly.

About You:

Essential

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, thrives on variety, and takes pride in delivering great service.

You'll bring....

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management abilities
  • Confidence using technology, systems, and business applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Previous administration, operational support, or customer service experience
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, team-focused approach

Desirable

You'll stand out if you have:

  • Knowledge of the dairy or agricultural sector
  • Experience supporting operational systems, mobile technology, or business applications
  • Experience in inventory, purchasing, or financial administration
  • An understanding of Herd Testing operations or related agricultural services

What Success Looks Like:

As a successful Field Support Officer, you'll be known as someone who gets things done. You'll bring a calm, practical approach to solving problems, build strong relationships across the business, and confidently adapt between technical support, operational coordination, and customer service activities.

Most importantly, you'll play a key role in helping LIC deliver accurate, timely Herd Testing services that support dairy farmers across New Zealand.

In Return:

In addition to a competitive salary, you'll receive extra leave days, flexible working options, discounted health, life, income and disability insurances, access to our employee shares scheme, wellbeing discounts, free onsite parking, an employee assistance programme, plus more!

Join a team that helps power New Zealand's dairy industry, where your problem-solving skills and support expertise will make a real difference to farmers across the country.
