About the job:

We’re looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join our team in New Plymouth!

As the New Plymouth Contract Manager, you’ll oversee the delivery of planned operations, construction, and maintenance contracts including reactive maintenance across the region, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.

The role involves:

• Leading day-to-day operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.

• Managing resources, work schedules, and operational planning

• Coaching, mentoring, and developing your team and supervisors

• Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors

• Overseeing contract performance KPIs, invoicing accuracy, WIP management, and financial outcomes

• Championing safe, smart ways of working and fostering a positive team culture.

What you’ll need:

• A qualification in Engineering, Operations, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of proven leadership experience.

• Strong project management capability and technical skills in Water and/or Wastewater networks and treatment operations.

• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.

• Experience in contracting, service delivery, or infrastructure operations.

• A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, Ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
