  • Permanent full-time position, working 40 hours per week

About the Role and Service

The Clinical Nurse Manager role has nursing professional, clinical leadership and operational management accountability in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams for Patient Management Services. Daily operational management includes a clinical safety overview of patient/tūroro/tangata whai ora areas, capacity planning, seasonal variation response, variance response management and where applicable, acute patient flow.

As Clinical Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Clinical and nursing leadership and management to facilitate the effective day-to-day safe operation of services and to contribute to the delivery of Directorate objectives and nursing strategy.
  • Clinical leadership to support nursing standards and nursing practice.
  • Supporting nursing staffing assessment based on acuity and resource decisions.

About you

Essential requirements:

  • New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current annual practicing certificate
  • Post graduate certificate/diploma in speciality nursing practice or health leadership/management
  • Working towards or completion of a Masters Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience post registration in relevant nursing specialty
  • A current Designated Senior Nurse Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) Portfolio
  • Ability to develop successful teamwork and collaborations
