About the Role

The Capital Planning Analyst plays a key role in supporting infrastructure investment decisions across Health New Zealand's Central Region.

Reporting to the Regional Manager Capital Planning, you will provide accurate planning data, financial and performance analysis, forecasting and reporting to support the management of the region's infrastructure capital plan. Working alongside Investment Planners, you will maintain reliable planning information and systems, monitor delivery against approved plans and provide insights that support prioritisation and the allocation of capital.

You will prepare management reports, dashboards, trend analysis, graphs and variance reporting covering capital programmes, financial performance, risk and compliance, drawing the information from multiple systems and sources, helping to identify the insights that matter and present them in a clear and accessible way.

Your analysis will also support capital requests, Investment Briefs and Business Cases. Through research, financial analysis and effective stakeholder engagement, you will help ensure planning decisions are based on accurate information and that reporting meets the needs of internal stakeholders and decision-makers.

About the Team/Service/ Location

About you

Analytical and detail-focused, you are comfortable working with complex datasets and turning them into useful information for planning and decision-making. You understand how to identify trends, explain variances and draw out the key messages from financial and performance data.

Strong technical capability is matched by clear communication. Rather than simply reporting figures, you can explain what the information means and present it in a way that is useful to non-technical stakeholders.

You know how to build constructive relationships, ask thoughtful questions and look for practical ways to strengthen reporting, systems and analytical processes.

You will bring

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in economics, business, finance, data analytics or another related discipline
