About the job

  • Own commercial performance across Lion’s Wine portfolio and Export of Lion's core portfolio
  • Combine hands-on finance with strategic business partnering
  • Shape longer-term decisions through commercial insight and analysis
  • Bring commercial insight and strategic thinking

About Us

At Lion, we’re all about making the moment mean more. We brew, market and deliver some of Australia and New Zealand’s most loved brands, while building a culture where people can grow, belong and make a real impact.

The Role

Take broad commercial ownership of Lion’s Wine business, while providing commercial finance support to our Export business across Lion’s core portfolio.

This is a varied role that combines hands-on financial management with strategic partnering. You’ll help shape the longer-term direction of Wine while supporting the performance and growth of our Export business.

  • Own financial performance, forecasting, month-end and planning across Wine, providing clear visibility of performance against targets
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to shape the longer-term Wine strategy, commercial priorities and opportunities
  • Build scenario models, insights and recommendations that support strategic and commercial decision making
  • Co-own wine balancing and support vintage costing, inventory management and the financial management of our wine assets
  • Support the Export business with reporting, forecasting and commercial insights across Lion’s broader portfolio
  • Strengthen financial governance through balance sheet ownership, quarterly attestations and robust financial processes

About You

You’re a commercially curious finance professional who enjoys both the detail and the bigger picture. You’re comfortable working independently, building trusted relationships and moving between hands-on financial work and strategic commercial conversations.

  • Strong technical accounting and financial capability, with experience across forecasting, month-end, planning and balance sheet management
  • Ability to turn financial analysis and complex information into clear commercial insights and recommendations
  • Confidence to work autonomously while building collaborative relationships across a broad stakeholder group
  • Strong business partnering skills with the curiosity to understand commercial drivers and contribute to longer-term strategy
  • Ability to navigate complexity, manage competing priorities and take ownership from analysis through to delivery
  • CA/CPA qualification, or working towards it; FMCG experience is advantageous but not essential

On Offer

  • Growth on tap - Whether you’re deepening your craft or exploring something new, Lion offers real opportunities, not just good intentions
  • A culture you can feel - Open, inclusive and down-to-earth. We celebrate wins, learn fast, and look out for each other
  • Flexibility - Win in both your work and personal life, you don’t have to choose
  • Wellbeing matters - From mental health support to wellbeing initiatives, we’re committed to helping you feel your best - at work and outside it
  • Great perks (yes, including the beer) - Competitive salary, a bar onsite at our office and access to events and experiences that make working in beer pretty special
  • Purpose beyond profit - As part of Lion, we’re committed to sustainability and doing the right thing for our communities and the planet
  • Iconic brands, real impact - You’ll be working on brands with history and heart, with the chance to make your mark on what comes next
