About the role

We have multiple opportunities available for qualified Vascular Surgeons who want to contribute to the delivery of both acute and planned vascular care, helping to provide a safe, sustainable and responsive vascular service.

Depending on the role, there will be opportunities for the full range of Vascular Surgery including aortic, carotid, peripheral vascular disease, trauma, renal dialysis access and paediatrics.

Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

• Delivering high-quality care across the complete spectrum of vascular surgery, including PAD, carotid surgery, open and endovascular aneurysm repair, dialysis access, and acute trauma

• Combining strong open surgical proficiency with endovascular skills to expand local treatment options

• Managing endovascular sessions and outpatient clinics (Including out-reach clinics)

• Fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment that prioritises patient safety, clinical governance, and multidisciplinary teamwork

About you

To work as a Vascular Surgeon in New Zealand, the following qualifications and experience are required:

• Vocational Registration with the New Zealand Medical Council and eligibility for an Annual Practicing Certificate in the Vocational Scope of Vascular Surgery

• Completion of a Specialty fellowship training programme in Vascular Surgery recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent

• Experience and training in vascular surgery

Salary, benefits and leave

Salary:

• The average salary package for Vascular Surgeons in New Zealand is GBP ~£149,338 (NZD $343,500)

• Packages are comprised of a base salary based on experience, plus allowances, and superannuation per the ASMS collective agreement
