Join AoFrio's Summer Internship Programme: Electrical, Electronics & Mechatronics Engineering from 23 November 2026 – 12 February 2027

If you're passionate about electronics, hardware, and real-world problem solving, this internship is for you. We're a global hardware-enabled SaaS company delivering cutting-edge IoT technology that helps the world's biggest food and beverage brands run smarter, more sustainable operations.

Our interns aren't here to shadow, they're paired with a dedicated mentor and dropped straight into a real, unsolved R&D challenge in commercial refrigeration and IoT. You'll bring fresh eyes to problems our engineers have been chewing on and walk away having actually built something.

Projects you might join include:- Developing a battery-less retrofit power sensor that harvests its own operating energy from the circuit it measures

• Adding real shaft-torque measurement to production motor testing, replacing inferred efficiency with measured efficiency
• Designing a 30W off-line buck converter and benchmarking it head-to-head against our standard flyback supply
• Characterising how LTE antennas actually perform once installed inside a metal cabinet, not just on the bench

Work hands-on with sensors, power electronics, RF and mechanical test rigs and collaborate with motivational mentors.

We're looking for students who are:- Curious, collaborative, and eager to learn

• Studying electrical/electronic engineering, mechatronics, or related
• Excited by hardware development, power electronics, sensor interfacing or RF/antenna workKeen to show off any "garage projects" or lab experience
• Ready to bring their energy and ideas into the room and maybe grow their career here!

To qualify for our internship programme, you will:- Be currently enrolled or recently graduated from a New Zealand tertiary education institution, studying towards a Bachelor's or postgraduate qualification

• If you're a recent graduate, you must have completed your final semester after November 2025
• Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
