Repairs & Spares is New Zealand's go-to destination for used and aftermarket agricultural parts, supplying customers throughout the South Island and beyond. We run one of the largest dismantling yards in the South Island, stripping down tractors and machinery of all makes and models to keep our customers' gear running without the cost of new parts. Alongside our parts business, we offer a full workshop service — repairs, servicing, ECU tuning and in-house engineering — all built around getting the most life out of a machine. We're looking for a Service Technician or Apprentice Technician to join our workshop team in Ashburton. Whether you're an experienced tech or just starting out and keen to learn the trade, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

You'll work on diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, servicing and refurbishment of a broad range of agricultural and construction machinery in our workshop. No two days look the same — one day you might be pulling down a tractor for parts, the next rebuilding a customer's machine or supporting one of our specialist services like ECU tuning or cab air filtration systems.

As a Technician, you'll bring hands-on experience and be ready to work independently on jobs from diagnosis through to completion.

As an Apprentice, you'll work alongside our experienced technicians, building your skills and working toward your qualification while getting exposure to a huge variety of machinery.

About You

Ideally you'll have:

• Experience in (or a strong interest in) service work on agricultural, construction or heavy machinery;
• Qualifications (or working toward qualifications) in Diesel / Heavy Machinery Servicing;
• A genuine interest in how machinery works and a hands-on, practical mindset;
• Good communication skills and a willingness to pitch in as part of a small, tight-knit team;
• A knack for problem-solving and persistence to see a job through.
