About the Role
As part of an agile development squad, you'll lead the design, development and maintenance of embedded software features and products from concept through to delivery. You'll collaborate closely with hardware engineers, testers, project teams, and fellow developers to build high-quality, reliable solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing and maintaining embedded software solutions
- Collaborating with hardware engineers on board bring-up, debugging and integration
- Analysing system performance and driving technical improvements
- Taking ownership of assigned projects and leading them through to completion
- Conducting code reviews and supporting engineering best practices
- Investigating and resolving complex technical issues and defects
- Mentoring and sharing knowledge with other developers
- Contributing to continuous improvement across products, processes and development standards
About You
You'll be a passionate software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and working in a collaborative product development environment. You're comfortable taking ownership, influencing technical direction and supporting the growth of those around you.
We're looking for someone who has:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience
- At least five years' experience in commercial software development
- Strong experience with Embedded C/C++
- Experience working with Linux and/or Zephyr environments
- Knowledge of microprocessor architecture and digital electronics
- Experience with debugging, testing and software quality practices
- Familiarity with version control systems and modern development tools
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Experience with FPGAs, VHDL, secure boot, embedded security concepts, open-source software, driver development or scripting languages such as Python and Bash would be highly regarded
