- Drive the ongoing evolution of Asteron's risk management framework, risk appetite framework and governance processes
- Provide risk oversight across transformation initiatives, business change and strategic projects
- Lead second-line assurance activities, including control reviews, attestations and remediation monitoring
- Oversee incidents, issues, breaches and regulatory obligations, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution
- Monitor risk appetite, emerging risks and control effectiveness across the business
- Prepare insightful reporting and recommendations for Executive, Risk Committee and Board stakeholders
- Support the Head of Risk and act under delegated authority when required
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Significant second-line risk management experience within a regulated financial services environment
- Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management, governance and control assurance frameworks
- Experience engaging, influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders
- Exposure to regulatory, compliance, conduct and operational risk management
- Experience preparing Executive and Board-level reporting
- Strong judgement, commercial acumen and the ability to translate complex risk matters into practical business outcomes
- The confidence to work autonomously and act as a trusted delegate when required
- A hands-on, pragmatic approach and willingness to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day risk management activities
- The ability to build strong relationships and work effectively within a small, collaborative team environment
What will set you apart
- Experience within life insurance or broader financial services
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution
- A team-first mindset and genuine enjoyment of being both a trusted advisor and a hands-on contributor
