Senior Product Designer

Our product designers craft the look, feel and functionality of our digital products. With this newly created role based in Auckland working for Trade Me Motors, you will design engaging solutions meeting both user and business needs in a 'Trade Me' way, demonstrating a bias for action, strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate openly across the wider Trade Me business.

Here is what you can expect from this role:

• Produce elegant, usable and responsive user interfaces and experiences while ensuring accessibility and technical constraints are met
• Actively contribute to and help grow our design system and wider design practice
• Strategically advocate for UX, connecting design decisions to measured business impact
• Clearly communicate ideas and design rationale, influencing decisions based on data and best design practices
• Collaborate cross-functionally with squad members and stakeholders applying design thinking
• Take ownership of the UX within your diamond (product owner, product manager & lead software engineer)
• Ideate, prototype and communicate future design concepts

What you will bring to our team:

• 6+ years' experience in similar design roles (internal team or agency background)
• Proficiency in Figma and prototyping software, backed by an end-to-end project portfolio
• Experience with AI is a plus, both designing AI-integrated product experiences and in using AI tools in your design process (e.g. research synthesis, prototyping, ideation)
• Solid understanding of Material Design guidelines for Android and Human Interface Guidelines for iOS
• Hands-on experience and best practice knowledge in user testing and user research
• Strong collaboration, communication and organisational skills
• Curiosity and empathy driven to deeply understand consumers and their problems
• Mentoring experience is advantageous
