At SkyCity, we’re looking for an experienced risk and compliance professional whose real superpower is their ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at every level of the business. You’ll know how to partner with the business to build risk capability, strengthen risk culture and drive genuine first-line ownership and accountability, while maintaining the independence and constructive challenge expected from a key member of our Line 2 Risk and Compliance team. This balance of partnership and challenge is central to the role.

You’ll thrive in an environment where you can set the standard, hold people to account and provide pragmatic, commercially informed guidance, rather than simply pointing out what isn’t working. You’ll be confident engaging with senior leaders, comfortable challenging when needed and equally capable of bringing people with you.

You’ll Also Bring

• Demonstrated experience leading and delivering compliance or risk programmes end-to-end by partnering effectively with a broad range of business stakeholders. This will include implementation and embedment of policies, incident and issue management processes, and controls.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand and/or Australian regulatory frameworks.
• Strong critical thinking and the confidence to provide constructive challenge in the moment, including at senior leadership level.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with experience developing and delivering training and awareness programmes.
• A curious mindset and willingness to take ownership of new or unfamiliar workstreams.
• High levels of integrity, independence, discretion and sound professional judgement.
• Experience across financial crime, technology, cyber, data, conduct risk, investigations or whistleblowing frameworks would be highly valued.
