About the job

Job Description:Kia ora!

Air New Zealand is evolving how we create value for our customers and our business. As a Senior Commercial Product Manager, you’ll shape products, services and propositions that make travel better for our customers while contributing to the performance of one of New Zealand’s most iconic brands.

This is an opportunity to set commercial direction, identify growth opportunities and lead products through their lifecycle. You’ll bring customer needs, market insight and business priorities together to build strong product strategies and roadmaps that deliver measurable results.

With a strong reputation for culture, service and innovation, Air New Zealand is transforming how people experience travel. Our teams work across the business to turn customer insight, technology and data into better experiences and stronger commercial outcomes.

About the role

As a Senior Commercial Product Manager, you’ll own the commercial strategy, roadmap and performance of a product, service or portfolio. You’ll identify where to grow value, shape priorities and guide investment from opportunity through to delivery and ongoing optimisation.

You’ll work closely with teams across Product, Marketing, Revenue Management, Loyalty, Technology, Data, Sales, Finance and Customer and within your squad to align customer needs with commercial goals and deliver outcomes.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Defining and delivering commercial product strategies and roadmaps aligned to customer and business priorities.
  • Drive product performance across a balanced scorecard balancing commercial outcomes with customer value and experience
  • Working closely with teams across pricing, marketing, channels and operations to develop and refine customer propositions
  • Using customer, market and performance insights to identify opportunities and prioritise investment.
  • Creating business cases, assessing options and influencing investment decisions.
  • Leading cross-functional initiatives that balance customer needs, commercial value and operational feasibility.
  • Tracking product performance, benefits and costs, then adapting plans as conditions change.
  • Working with internal teams, partners and suppliers to bring opportunities to market.
  • Keeping up with market and customer trends and applying relevant ideas to Air New Zealand’s products and services.

What we’re looking for

You’re an experienced commercial product leader who can connect customer needs to business performance. You’re comfortable setting direction, making evidence-based choices and bringing people together to deliver results.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Significant experience in commercial product management, Product Portfolio management, Business growth, Market development or a related field.
  • A track record of improving commercial or customer outcomes through product or service initiatives.
  • Experience developing product strategies, roadmaps, business cases and investment recommendations.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, with confidence using data to prioritise opportunities and measure performance.
  • The ability to understand customer needs and translate them into valuable, viable propositions.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional work in a large or changing organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills.
  • Experience working with technology teams, commercial partners, vendors or suppliers.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Technology or a related discipline is beneficial, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Airline, travel or tourism experience is an advantage, but not essential.

If you meet most of the criteria and are excited by the opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.

Applications close Wednesday 28th October 2026.
