ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Sales Performance Analyst who can combine strong commercial analysis with a proactive, opportunity-focused approach to improving sales performance across Ballance. This role will turn sales data, market insight and wider economic understanding into clear, practical recommendations that help sales leaders make confident decisions, identify opportunities and drive performance across our channels, regions and customer segments. You’ll also play a key role in supporting the sales incentive process and bringing market, customer and sector insights into planning and performance conversations.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver accurate and timely reporting, analysis and insights on sales performance, trends, risks and opportunities.
- Proactively identify sales performance opportunities and work with sales leaders to translate insights into practical actions.
- Own and support the sales incentive process, including performance tracking, calculations, reporting, recommendations and stakeholder communication.
- Support forecasting, planning and performance tracking across sales channels, regions and customer segments.
- Bring together internal data, customer insights, market activity and wider economic context to support commercial decisions.
- Contribute to market insight and planning conversations by connecting relevant sector, customer and performance information with Sales, Marketing, Finance and other business teams.
- Maintain and improve reporting tools, dashboards and sales performance measures, while identifying ways to simplify, automate and strengthen processes.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll be commercially curious, proactive and confident working with data, people and performance opportunities. You’ll enjoy getting under the skin of what is driving sales results, using insight to spot opportunities, and partnering with sales leaders to turn recommendations into action. You’ll also bring an understanding of how customer, market, sector and broader economic factors can influence sales performance, planning activity and commercial decision-making.
To be considered for this role, you will have the following:
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and communicate insights clearly.
- Experience in sales performance, commercial analysis, business intelligence, finance analysis, market insights or a similar commercially focused role.
- A proactive, opportunity-focused mindset, with the confidence to challenge thinking, ask good questions and influence action.
- Experience supporting sales incentive, commission, target-setting or performance reward processes would be an advantage.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with reporting or visualisation tools.
- An ability to connect sales data with customer, market, sector or economic insights to support practical commercial recommendations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and improvement-focused approach.
