About the Role

As a Registered Health Clinician within our Community Mental Health and Addiction Service, you will provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, support and case management to tangata whai ora experiencing mental health and addiction challenges. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will support individuals and whānau through recovery-focused interventions, including individual and group programmes, counselling, crisis support, and coordination of care.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will build strong relationships with whānau, community providers, iwi partners and other health professionals to ensure connected, culturally responsive care. You'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact in your community while continuing to grow your clinical skills in a supportive and experienced team environment.

About the Team/Service/Location

Our Community Mental Health and Addiction Service provides specialist assessment, treatment and recovery support for adults across the Far North. Based in Kaitaia, our multidisciplinary team works closely with primary care, iwi providers, community organisations and whānau to deliver person-centred, culturally responsive services that improve outcomes for tangata whai ora.

About you

As an experienced health professional, you will bring a passion for mental health and addiction services and a commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and all communities across Te Tai Tokerau. You will have:

• Current registration and a current practising certificate with a relevant New Zealand professional board (such as nursing, occupational therapy, social work, psychology)
• Experience working in mental health and/or addiction services, including assessment, treatment planning and case management
• Knowledge of substance use treatment and the ability to support tangata whai ora and whānau through recovery journeys
• Strong communication, relationship-building and multidisciplinary team collaboration skills
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, culturally safe practice, and working effectively with Māori, whānau, iwi and community partners
• Current full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence with the ability to travel throughout Northland as required
