Quality Assurance Technician - Precast

Description

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join our Christchurch team. This hands-on role works closely with the Precast Manager and Production Supervisor to keep production running smoothly, maintain quality standards, and ensure precast products are delivered on time.

You’ll be involved in QA checks, inspections, production coordination, and helping keep the workshop running smoothly day to day. If you’ve got experience in precast or concrete manufacturing, enjoy hands-on work, and take pride in producing quality results, we’d love to hear from you.

Requirements

• Coordinate and maintain QA documentation, production records, contract files, and reporting
• Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
• Carry out inspections of formwork, reinforcing, inserts within precast products, and finished items
• Complete pre-pour and post-pour QA documentation and support remedial works where required
• Assist with production scheduling, load-out preparation, and delivery coordination
• Liaise with supervisors, subcontractors, transport providers, and internal teams to keep projects running smoothly
• Support process improvements and ongoing production efficiency initiatives
• Assist with product labelling, load-out boards, and production reporting
• Use company systems and software for reporting, documentation, and project administration
• Provide day-to-day support and direction within the production environment where required

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in precast concrete manufacturing, concrete production, or a similar industry
• Diploma in Quality Assurance, Quality Management, or equivalent industry experience
• Strong understanding of QA processes and manufacturing standards
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Good computer and documentation skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines
• A proactive and team-focused attitude
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence
• Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
