Process Lead

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Lead to join our Wetmix team at Dunsandel.

In this technically focused line role, you will be responsible for operating and optimising the Wet Processing Milk Treatment process, including milk reception, separation, pasteurisation and standardisation. You will play a key role in maintaining process performance, product quality and safety, managing minor plant project optimisations, ensuring operational reliability, while providing technical direction and support across the shifts.

Key responsibilities of this role include.

• Monitor critical milk treatment equipment within defined operating parameters.
• Lead technical problem-solving and follow-up across the plant, including identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions with a core loss elimination focus.
• Control and optimise process conditions to ensure product is manufactured in specification and right first time.
• Monitor process performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and product quality.
• Coach and develop operational leaders and operators in process knowledge, fault-finding and troubleshooting, building the confidence and capability to understand root causes, identify issues and independently develop effective solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, reliability and process performance with a zero-loss journey focus.

About you

We’re looking for someone with strong process and technical capability who can confidently troubleshoot, analyse and make decisions in a complex manufacturing environment, while developing the technical capability of those around them.

• 5 years previous experience working in a process operations role, ideally within a dairy environment
• A degree in an engineering, food technology, or technical discipline is desirable but not essential
• The ability to interpret process information, identify trends and make sound operational decisions based on data and changing process conditions.
• Demonstrated fault-finding and troubleshooting capability across equipment, systems, and production processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify process issues, investigate root causes, implement effective solutions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Proven ability to communicate effectively across teams and shifts, with strong interpersonal skills and the capability to provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to others within a production environment
• Proactive mindset with a strong focus on safety, quality, teamwork, and driving operational excellence through continuous learning and improvement
