About the job
This role involves contributing professionally recorded music tracks and meticulously edited MIDI files to support the development of an AI training dataset. You will be responsible for providing high-quality audio and corresponding MIDI data, ensuring precise note-level accuracy and a diverse range of genres. This is an excellent opportunity for musicians, producers, and audio engineers with existing catalogues to monetize their archived work while supporting cutting-edge AI research.
Deliverables
- Submit 3–4 minute songs in lossless WAV format (44.1 kHz or higher).
- Provide two MIDI files per song: one original and one corrected, with tracks separated by instrument.
- Ensure corrected MIDI files have note endings precisely matching the audio (within 10–20 ms).
- Include a completed metadata sheet detailing track and instrument information.
- At least one instrument per song must be performed live with minimal quantization.
- Acceptable genres: Non-Western, Hip-Hop/Rap, Latin, Pop, Classical, Rock, Metal, Jazz/Blues, Soundtrack, Country/Folk, R&B, Electronic, Reggae.
- Rap and sung vocals are welcome.
- Auto-transcription may be used initially, but all notes must be manually corrected.
- No AI-generated music is permitted.
Requirements
- Proficiency with a DAW such as Logic, Ableton, Pro Tools, or Reaper.
- Full rights to all submitted material, with agreement from all co-writers and performers for the specified usage.
- Ability to deliver both audio and MIDI files to professional standards.
- Attention to detail in editing MIDI note endings to match audio precisely.
- Willingness to adhere to exclusive licensing for AI research for five years.
- Strong organizational skills to manage metadata and submission requirements.
- Availability to submit multiple songs across various genres is a plus.
