Our New Plymouth service is moving into a brand‑new, purpose‑built maternity unit opening in 2026, designed to provide a modern, fit‑for‑purpose environment that supports high‑quality, whānau‑centred care. Within the New Plymouth birthing suite there are four primary birthing rooms, each equipped with a birthing pool, and four secondary birthing rooms, two of which also have pools. The unit includes fourteen inpatient rooms, each with an ensuite and partner bed, as well as a dedicated loss room, three patient assessment rooms, an antenatal assessment clinic, and a Women’s Assessment Unit. The Hāwera Primary Birthing Unit offers one birthing room with a pool and three postnatal beds, providing a supportive environment for low‑risk birthing and postnatal care.%3C/i%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cp class=%22MsoNormal%22%3E%3Ci%3ETe Whatu Ora Taranaki’s neonatal unit has level 2A accreditation with 6 cots and 2 intensive care cots to provide care for babies from 28 weeks%27 gestation.%26nbsp;%3C/i%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cp class=%22MsoNormal%22%3E%3Ci%3EIn this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, caring for whānau throughout all stages of their maternity journey.
