Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance & Trades Supervisor to join our team and provide hands-on leadership across maintenance operations within a major processing facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will lead a skilled team of tradespeople and contractors while coordinating preventative and reactive maintenance activities to ensure plant reliability, operational efficiency, and strong safety performance. This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with production and operational teams to support continuous improvement initiatives, minimise downtime, and maintain critical plant and equipment performance.

Key responsibilities

· Leading and supervising maintenance tradespeople and contractors

· Coordinating preventative and breakdown maintenance activities

· Supporting safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation

· Managing maintenance priorities and resources across the site

· Promoting strong health and safety leadership within a major hazard environment

· Supporting continuous improvement and plant reliability initiatives

· Coaching and developing team capability and performance

· Building strong working relationships across operational teams

About you

· A recognised trade qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Refrigeration, Fitting & Turning, or similar)

· Proven leadership experience within manufacturing, processing, engineering, industrial, or heavy industry environments

· Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving capability

· Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance activities within a complex operational environment

· A demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety

· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

· A collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate and support others

· The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment

· Hold current and unrestricted rights to work in New Zealand

· Be able to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol, and background screening requirements
