Are you an organised finance professional who enjoys variety, accuracy and supporting a busy team? Discover Waitomo is looking for a Finance & Administration Assistant to join us in Waitomo and help keep our finance function running smoothly, on a part-time permanent basis.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Commercial Accountant, you will provide accurate and timely finance and administrative support across accounts payable, reconciliations, reporting and general administration. This is a varied role where your attention to detail, initiative and ability to build strong working relationships will make a real difference.

What You’ll Do:

  • Process supplier invoices, creditor payments and account queries accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile supplier statements, bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
  • Process journals, accruals and general ledger transactions.
  • Support month-end, year-end, audit and compliance reporting, including GST and FBT.
  • Assist with management reports, supporting schedules and variance analysis.
  • Maintain accurate finance records and data within Dynamics 365 and related systems.
  • Provide general administration support, prepare documentation and maintain procedures.
  • Contribute to process improvements, finance projects and a strong culture of health, safety and wellbeing.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Two to three years’ experience in accounts payable, finance administration, accounting support or a similar role.
  • Experience with financial processing, reconciliations and month-end activities.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft 365.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation and written and verbal communication skills.
  • A reliable, proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • A relevant accounting, finance or business qualification, or current study towards one, is desirable.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance or a similar ERP, and knowledge of GST and FBT, would be advantageous.
