We’re on the lookout for an experienced Safety & Security Officer who is calm under pressure, confident in their approach, and committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

Reporting to the Security Coordinator, you’ll be a key part of our frontline team — ensuring the safety of our guests, staff, and contractors while delivering top-tier customer service.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Be the friendly face of safety and security at Te Pae Christchurch
• Monitor and respond to security incidents with professionalism and care
• Support emergency response and evacuation procedures
• Manage contractor and loading dock access with precision
• Champion health and safety compliance across the venue
• Help create a secure, welcoming space for all visitors

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who’s not just great at security — but great with people.

• A current Certificate of Approval (COA) is essential
• At least one year experience in a security role (previous experience in hospitality or event security is an extra bonus)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• A customer-first mindset and a calm, professional demeanor
• Physically fit and comfortable with long periods of walking/standing
• A current First Aid certification is desirable
• Organised, reliable, and able to think on your feet
