The Role
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this is a key leadership position responsible for leading a large Plant Services team while providing strategic and operational oversight of engineering, maintenance, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
You'll play a critical role in ensuring plant reliability, improving asset performance, delivering capital projects, leading continuous improvement programmes, and maintaining strong environmental and regulatory compliance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a high-performing engineering and maintenance team.
- Driving asset reliability, plant availability, and maintenance best practice.
- Managing environmental programmes and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Providing technical leadership and complex problem-solving support across site operations.
- Developing and managing R&M budgets, operating costs, and capital projects.
- Supporting business planning, asset management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Building a strong culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
About you
We're looking for a proven engineering leader who enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on operational leadership.
You'll bring:
- 10+ years' engineering experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally food processing or a similarly regulated industry.
- Experience leading engineering or maintenance teams.
- Strong knowledge of asset management, reliability engineering, and maintenance planning.
- Experience managing environmental programmes and compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Experience managing budgets, projects, and capital expenditure.
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance management processes.
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
