About the job
VetSouth's Winton clinic is looking for an experienced companion animal vet ready to lead. You will mentor our clinical team, help shape how the practice grows and have real input on how our Companion Animal division operates day-to-day. This role would suit a vet who is already in a leadership role or someone who has 4+ years' experience and wants to step into a leadership position within the next 12 months.
About the role
- Lead and mentor a team of mixed animal vets, new grads and 4 vet nurses, supporting their clinical development
- Carry a full-time FTE companion animal caseload, including surgery, dentistry, ultrasound and consultations.
- Work with the practice team on business planning, client experience and growth
About you
- BVSc or equivalent, registered (or eligible for registration) with the NZ Veterinary Council
- At least 4 years' companion animal experience, with confidence in consultation and surgery
- Strong communication and relationship skills, with the ability to work well with colleagues at every level and deliver excellent client service
- Commercial awareness, such as understanding of client growth and retention, practice performance and team management
- A genuine interest in being part of a community-focused business
